A shooting in Loudoun County on Tuesday left one man hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A shooting in Loudoun County on Tuesday left one man hospitalized, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The shooting occurred in the area of Demott Drive in Broadlands.

On Tuesday evening, authorities found a man suffering from a gunshot in a parking lot, according to a news release from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The man, who was alone when he was found, was taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities said his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The suspect fled the area after the shooting, and a firearm belonging to the victim was found at the scene, police said. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said there is no reason to believe the shooting posed a threat to the community.

In a Facebook post, police described the suspect as a heavyset Black male, who is about 6-feet tall. The suspect was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
