Stone Bridge Rowing Team determined to ‘Be the Pressure’
Team pushes on through mid-season stretch at the June 5th Ted Phoenix regatta
The Stone Bridge High School rowing team from Ashburn, Virginia continued its competitive success at the Ted Phoenix regatta at Sandy Run Regional Park on the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax Station, Virginia, on June 5, 2021. Challenged by Head Coach Sean Thomas to “be the pressure” this week, SBHS competed in 8 races against hundreds of other boats from schools across the Northern Virginia region and placed in 6 of them.
The Men’s Junior Varsity 4+, Men’s Junior Varsity 4x, and Women’s Novice 8 boats took 1st place; the Women’s Novice 4 boat took 2nd place; and the Men’s Junior Varsity 8 and Men’s Novice 8 boats took 3rd place out of all competitors in their classes. The SB Rowing Team's next event is the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association (VASRA) state finals at Sandy Run Regional Park on June 18-19, 2021.
