Suicide Prevention Seminar Set for Feb. 2
Loudoun County Public Schools will present a Suicide Prevention Seminar on Thursday, Feb. 2.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) will present a Suicide Prevention Seminar on Thursday, Feb. 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the LCPS Administrative Offices in Ashburn.
LCPS Supervisor of Diagnostic and Prevention Services Dr. Heather Applegate and Dr. Christianne Esposito-Smythers of George Mason University will share research-based principles of suicide prevention, outline LCPS policies and procedures and provide guidance for parents.

- Identification of common myths;
- Risk factors;
- Warning signs;
- Protective factors;
- Primary prevention;
- Early identification; and
- Referral and resources.
The presentation will focus on suicide prevention as an ongoing process.
