Surprise Motor Squads Escort 2 Delighted Boys to School: LCSO
PHOTOS/VIDEO: Twin boys with rare genetic disorder get surprise motor squad police escort to their school.
ASHBURN, VA — Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman and motor units with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) and the Fairfax County Police Department organized a surprise escort for Joshua and Jacob Fernando, who are twins, to Belmont Station Elementary School in Ashburn on Friday, Sept. 30, according to the LCSO.
The boys were diagnosed three years ago with a rare genetic called disorder Ataxia-Telangiectasia. The disorder attacks their brain cells and immune system, leaving them wobbly and prone to infections and cancer.
According to the LCSO, a very thoughtful neighbor brought it to the attention of LCSO that these boys' faces light up when they see police motorcycles. Today they were surprised by a personal visit and escort by Sheriff Chapman and both the LCSO's Motor Unit and the Fairfax County Police Department Motor Unit.
