Teen Musicians Sought for Battle of the Bands

Middle and high school student musicians in Loudoun County are invited to compete in a Battle of the Bands competition.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Teen musicians are sought for Battle of the Bands in Loudoun County, according to a Loudoun County Government announcement.

Performers at the annual Loudoun YouthFest are selected through a Battle of the Bands competition among middle and high school students residing in Loudoun County. Interested bands and soloists can apply at www.loudoun.gov/teens. The deadline for applications is December 1, 2016.

The 2017 YouthFest will be held June 17, 2017 at The Barn at One Loudoun, Ashburn. Band battles will be held January 27, February 24 and March 24 at The Studio, 45449 Severn Way, Dulles. Winners advance to the final competition on April 21 at the Tally Ho, 19 W. Market Street, Leesburg and perform at the festival. The overall winner opens for the festival’s nationally-known headliner.

Competition organizers randomly select lineups and assign competition dates, which will be announced at a kickoff event December 15, 2016 at the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS), 20145 Ashbrook Place, Ashburn.
