Vegas Bound Capital Beltway Warriors in Search of another Win

The Capital Beltway Warriors, will travel to Las Vegas to compete in the USA Hockey Warrior Classic sponsored by comedian Terry Fator

The Capital Beltway Warriors, a Loudoun County based Disabled Veteran Hockey club, will travel to Las Vegas to participate in the 3rd Annual USA Hockey Warrior Classic October 4-7 sponsored by comedian Terry Fator. The Capital Beltway Warriors traveled to Chicago in April to compete in the Disabled Hockey Festival and won the C Division Championship (Video). The Team is comprised of Veterans of the United States Armed Forces that have a service connected disability. The nonprofit club raises funds to provide education and opportunities for Veterans to learn and play the sport of Ice Hockey. The club started in 2017 with 13 members and is currently over 50 strong and has created a second track for non-disabled Veterans who participate in the Adult Hockey category. The Team Conducts practices at The Loudoun Ice Centre and the Prince William Ice Center.

In Las Vegas, the Capital Beltway Warriors will face the Minnesota Warriors (last matchup was 13-2 Capital Beltway Warriors) on 5 October at 11:10am PDT, the Dallas Warriors (a new team to USA Hockey's Warrior program) on 5 October at 8pm PDT, and the Pittsburg Warriors (Last matchup was 3-5 Pittsburgh) on 6 October at 7am PDT. If they advance there will also be games held on Sunday October 7th. All games will be played a the City National Arena in Las Vegas, the practice facility of the Las Vegas Golden Knights and will be broadcast live on HockeyTV.

Prior to heading to Las Vegas, the Capital Beltway Warriorswill be participating in theBrooks Cycles 10th Anniversary Charity Poker Run in Chantilly, VA to benefit the Capital Beltway Warriors Ice Hockey Inc. The event will start at Brooks Cycles in Chantilly, VA and will consist of a 97 mile course on scenic Loudoun County roads, it will start and end at Brooks Cycles in Chantilly, VA with 3 participating stops: Mt. Defiance Cidery and Distillery in Middleburg; Adroit Theory Brewing Company, in Purcellville, and Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn. Please come out and show your support. There will be plenty of activities for everyone and there will be an auction for an official authorized game puck signed by Washington Capitals #19, Nicholas Backstrom.
