Verizon Ashburn Recycling Rally Disposes of 34 Tons of E-Waste
Verizon collected 68,343 pounds of electronic waste in TVs, printers, DVD players and more at this year's Ashburn Recycling Rally Sept. 18.

The fifth annual Verizon Ashburn Recycling Rally collected 34 tons of electronic waste this year, the company announced Monday.
That includes 68,343 pounds of TVs, printers, desktop PCs, VCRs, DVD players and even a few eight-track tapes.
More than 550 Northern Virginians contributed to this year’s rally, which took place Sept. 18 at Verizon’s Ashburn Campus, 22001 Loudoun County Parkway.

The rally acts as an extension of Verizon’s zero-landfill objective, meaning the materials will be reused or recycled so that they do not end up in a landfill.
To date, the Ashburn rallies have collected more than 191,000 pounds of electronic waste, or more than 95 tons.
