Voter Reminder: Oct. 17 Registration Deadline for Upcoming Election

Find out what you need to know to register to vote or to cast your absentee vote in the November 8 General Election.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The deadline to register to vote or update a registered voter’s address for the upcoming election on November 8, 2016 is 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2016, according to Loudoun County election officials. If you are registering to vote by mail, the application must be postmarked no later than October 17.

Citizens may also submit a voter registration application online or check their voter registration status at www.vote.virginia.gov.

In-person voter registration is available through Monday, October 17, at the Loudoun County Voter Registration and Elections Office at 750 Miller Drive, S.E., Suite C, Leesburg, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Absentee balloting for the November general election is under way at the same location, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., October 21, 2016.

Beginning October 24, 2016, hours for absentee voting at the Office of Elections will be extended and will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Absentee voting will be available there on Saturday, October 29, and Saturday, November 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Beginning October 24 through November 4, absentee voting will also take place at the Cascades Senior Center, 21060 Whitfield Place, Sterling, and the Dulles South Multipurpose Center, 24950 Riding Center Drive, South Riding, Monday through Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The deadline for voters to apply to have an absentee ballot mailed to them is 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016. The last day to vote an absentee ballot in person is Saturday, November 5, 2016.
