The Washington Football Team will play 17 regular season games in 2021, including eight home games at FedEx Field in Landover.

ASHBURN, VA — Football fans everywhere can start circling the wins and losses, and begin making fall plans, now that the 2021 NFL regular season schedule has been revealed. The 2021 Washington Football Team schedule features 8 home games and 9 away games, including six divisional contests and other intriguing matchups as the franchise attempts to win their second consecutive NFC East title.
The Washington Football Team is scheduled to play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week One at home on Sunday, September 12 at 1 p.m. 3 prime-time games are on the slate for the Washington Football Team in 2021, including one game on a Thursday night, one on a Sunday night, and one Monday night game.
The franchise's storied rivalry against the Dallas Cowboys with the 123rd and 124th games in the all-time series. The Washington Football Team swept the Cowboys in their games last season. This year, the teams will face off at FedEx Field at 1 p.m. on Dec. 12, and in Dallas at 8 p.m. on December 26 for Sunday Night Football.

The 2021 season will be the longest in the history of the NFL, as the league approved an expansion from 16 to 17 games earlier in the offseason. In the new scheduling format, all AFC teams will host an additional game in odd years, and all NFC teams get an extra home game in even years.

The NFL will kick off the 2021 regular season on Thursday, Sept. 9, when the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Dallas Cowboys.
Three games are scheduled for Thanksgiving, which falls on Nov. 25 this year. The Chicago Bears will visit the Detroit Lions before the Las Vegas Raiders play at the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills go to New Orleans to play the Saints in the holiday nightcap.
With the regular season extended an extra week, the traditional Week 17 division rivalry matchups will be held in Week 18.
The Washington Football Team will play their final regular season game of the season on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, against the New York Giants.
