Electrical Fire Causes $70,000 In Damage To Burke Townhouse
No one was injured in the fire, which investigators determined was caused by an electrical event tied to wiring to an attic fan.

BURKE, VA — Wiring to an attic fan started an electrical fire that caused about $70,000 in damage to a Burke townhouse Saturday night, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue department officials announced.
No one was home at the time of the fire, which started at 7:44 p.m. on Saturday in the 9500 block of Ashbridge Court. A neighbor noticed fire coming from the attic vent of the townhouse and called 911. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the roof the two-story townhouse and no one was injured, officials said.
Two residents were displaced because of the fire, and both declined assistance from the Red Cross. Fire officials said that smoke detectors did not sound prior to the fire starting because of the location of the fire.
