Elyse Jane DeVault, 62, Of Burke
Elyse Jane DeVault of Burke was a volunteer EMT and caregiver for children.

Elyse Jane DeVault (nee Alvino), known to many as "Weezie," passed away on February 5, 2018 at her home in Burke, Virginia at the age of 62.
Elyse was predeceased by her parents, Joan Winterburn and Rudy Alvino, and stepfather, John Winterburn. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 39 years, Doug DeVault, her daughters, Jessica and Casey [husband, Neale Smith], sister Jo Ann [husband, Joel Wolber], step-brothers, John and Bob Winterburn [wife, Elizabeth], and extended family and dear friends.
Always taking care of others, Elyse spent her time as a Volunteer EMT and as a caregiver for children. She was extremely fond of all types of animals and worked at a local pet store for over 10 years. In her spare time, Elyse enjoyed gardening and sitting on the deck admiring the birds and local wildlife. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader, and could spend hours collecting seashells on the beach. Her outgoing personality allowed her to make friends wherever she went.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Elyse’s memory to Fisher House Foundation at www.fisherhouse.org. A celebration of Elyse’s life will be held on March 10, 2018 at the Fairfax American Legion Post #177, 3939 Oak St., Fairfax, VA 22030 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
