How The Fairfax Connector Worker Strike Impacts Burke Area
The Fairfax Connector bus driver strike means some changes for bus routes in the Burke and West Springfield areas.

BURKE, VA — Fairfax Connector workers with the ATU Local 1764 union went on strike Thursday, impacting bus routes throughout the county.
The union cited "unfair labor practices" by Fairfax Connector's private contractor Transdev. The strike is expected to cause significant disruptions to commutes as the union and Transdev negotiate a new contract for Fairfax Connector workers. Metrobus workers have also been on strike at the Cinder Bed Road Bus garage, which is privately operated by Transdev and serves various Northern Virginia bus routes. According to Metro alerts, some routes serving the Burke area are still not operating.
Because limited Fairfax Connector workers are reporting for duty, some routes are not running. Others are running on a Sunday schedule rather than a weekday schedule.
