Lake Braddock Faces Stern Test Friday Against Hayfield

BURKE, VA — Lake Braddock's defense figures to be tested mightily tonight at 7 in the second round of the 6A North Region playoffs when it greets Hayfield and quarterback Jacob Keeney.

Keeney has thrown for 3,378 yards and 34 touchdowns for the 9-2 Hawks.

The 10-1 Bruins, meanwhile counter with one of the area's best running backs in University of Virginia recruit Lamont Atkins, who averages 156 rushing yards per game.

Lake Braddock is No. 6 in the Washington Post area prep football rankings.

The teams have one common opponent: South County. Lake Braddock won 52-44, and Hayfield lost 50-46.

Whoever wins will face the winner of tonight's Centreville-South Lakes game.
