Lake Braddock Moves to No. 5 in Area Football Poll
Coming off their 42-0 win against Hayfield, the Bruins are No. 5 in just-released Washington Post area prep football rankings.
BURKE, VA — Following its 42-0 home beat-down last weekend against Hayfield in the 6A North Region playoffs, Lake Braddock moved up a notch to No. 5 in the just-released Washington Post area prep football rankings.
But awaiting the 11-1 Bruins Friday is No. 10 South Lakes (11-1), which advanced by holding off Centreville 22-10.
Lake Braddock tailback Lamont Atkins, a University of Virginia recruit, had four touchdowns in the win over the Hawks, including an interception return.

Ahead of the Bruins in the rankings are No. 1 DeMatha (12-0), followed by Wise (12-0), Damascus (12-0) and Quince Orchard (11-1).
