Lake Braddock No. 12 in Final Area Prep Football Rankings
The Bruins were No. 5 in the Washington Post poll before losing to South Lakes in the 6A North Region semifinals.

BURKE, VA — Lake Braddock wound up No. 12 in the final Washington Post area prep football rankings.
The Bruins (11-2), ranked No. 6 in the preseason poll, lost 40-22 to South Lakes in the 6A North Region semifinals.
Their only other loss was to Centreville.

Lake Braddock was spearheaded by running back Lamont Atkins and two-way standout Ibrahim Mansaray, both of whom helped the Bruins win at least 10 games for the fourth consecutive season.
Atkins, a University of Virginia recruit, was the Gatorade Virginia player of the year.

The top five teams were, in order, DeMatha (12-0), Wise (14-0), Damascus (14-0), Westfield (13-2) and St. John's (8-4).
