Lake Braddock Suffers First Loss at Centreville
Bruins fall 8-7 in waning seconds as running game muted; next face T.C. Williams.

CLIFTON, VA — Now that Lake Braddock no longer is undefeated, given its 8-7 loss last Friday at Centreville that ended in surreal fashion, the highly touted Bruins (4-1) must quickly regroup ahead of Friday's visit from T. C. Williams.
One point of concern no doubt will be how the Wildcats (4-1) effectively neutered Lake Braddock's heretofore prolific rushing game, tailback Lamont Atkins in particular.
Centreville held the University of Virginia recruit to 65 yards on 15 carries.

Atkins entered the game as the area's third leading rusher with 855 yards.
Even so, Lake Braddock appeared to be in decent shape with fewer than two minutes remaining before it had a punt blocked and Centreville recovered at the Bruins' 35.

The Wildcats quickly moved downfield and, at the 9, fumbled after a short gain. Lake Braddock's Youssof recovered but had the ball stripped and Centreville recovered in the end zone for the touchdown and then converted a two-point try for the win.
