Lake Braddock Visits South County in Key Showdown Friday
Winner will claim top seed in 6A North Region playoffs; Bruins looking to avenge last season's overtime loss.
BURKE, VA — Having already clinched a spot in the 6A North Region playoffs, Lake Braddock is aiming for the top seed when it visits rival South County tonight at 7.
The 8-1 Bruins, No. 10 in the latest Washington Post area prep football rankings, also are seeking a bit of payback after last season's overtime loss to the Stallions cost them the Conference 7 title.
South County (7-2), coming off a 24-21 loss at West Potomac, is led by quarterback Jack McDaniels, who has thrown for 2,284 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Lake Braddock counters with a powerful running game spearheaded by University of Virginia recruit Lamont Atkins, who has rushed for 1,425 yards and 22 touchdowns on just 109 attempts.
