Lake Braddock Well-Represented on 2016 Fall All-Met Teams

Kate Murphy was the girls cross country athlete of the year and Lamont Atkins was first-team linebacker, as chosen by the Washington Post.

BURKE, VA — Lake Braddock High School is well-represented on the 2016 Fall All-Met teams, as chosen by the Washington Post.

In girls cross country, senior Kate Murphy was tapped as the athlete of the year after winning her second consecutive Virginia 6A state championship in leading the Bruins to the team title.

And in football, University of Virginia recruit Lamont Atkins, the Gatorade Virginia player of the year, was named first-team linebacker.

Murphy, who will continue her athletic career at track powerhouse Oregon, also is the reigning All-Met indoor and outdoor track athlete of the year. Fellow Bruins senior Taylor Kitchen was named to the second team.
