New Survey Opens On Fairfax County Parkway Improvements
Tolls are not being considered as an option for the parkways.

BURKE, VA—Fairfax County has opened a new survey on long-term improvements for the Fairfax County Parkway and Franconia-Springfield Parkway.
The county is working to shape recommendations to improve the corridor up to 2040 and beyond. The new survey comes after several community meetings in the fall and spring. Feedback collected this spring will help officials decide which improvements will be developed for screening and testing.
The county received 15,150 responses from the first survey last fall. Officials ruled out tolls as an option based on the public feedback. The survey also found strong support for widening the road, interchanges to eliminate signalized intersection and enhanced transit—but not for HOV lanes.
