New West Springfield Road Closure Reported Wednesday

Fairfax County isn't in the clear for flooding, and several roads remain closed.

Things aren't quite back to normal after days of heavy rain in the region. In fact, several roads in Fairfax County remain closed.

As of 6 a.m. Wednesday, Fairfax County Police reported Hunter Village Drive at Old Keene Mill Road is closed for a tree in the roadway. Other county closures include Browns Mill Road at Windstone Drive and Browns Mill Road at Rosewood Hill Drive in Vienna and Leigh Mill Road at Kelso Road in Great Falls with one lane open. The latter three have water in the roadways.

Fairfax County and other parts of the region remain under a flood watch through Wednesday afternoon. National Weather Service forecasters say intermittent showers and thunderstorms could happen, as well as possible rounds of torrential rainfall. Flooding may occur due to already saturated soil from the recent rainfall.
