Northern Virginia Weather: How Long Will Spring Weather Last?

A delightful Wednesday should be followed by a sunny but windy Thursday, according to the National Weather Service; rain chances are scant.

STERLING, VA — Save for wondering whether a smattering of sunscreen should be dabbed, there was little not to like about Wednesday's weather, with highs near or at 60 — some 15 degrees warmer than the norm for a late January day.

Although there's a slight chance of shower here and there tonight, Thursday is expected to bring mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the upper 50s — albeit with wind gusts that could reach 30 mph.

Temperatures start to dip toward normal levels Thursday night and into the next few days, although there's little chance for rain.
