Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church Welcomes New Priest-in-Charge

The Reverend William L. Packard Joins Parish as Spiritual Leader

Burke, Virginia— June 30, 2020 After a year-long search for its spiritual leader, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Burke, Virginia, is proud to announce that the Reverend William (Will) Packard has accepted the call to be Priest-in-Charge beginning July 1.

“With guidance and support from the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, in particular Bishop Susan Goff and her staff, we concluded that Reverend Packard is the right person to lead us on the next leg of our faith journey,” said Mark Foster, St. Andrew’s Senior Warden. “We look forward to the vision and energy he promises to bring to our parish, and appreciate his courage in making this move during such a turbulent time.”

The St. Andrew’s Parish discerned spiritually upon many potential candidates, selecting Reverend Packard, with a confirming unanimous vote of the Vestry of St. Andrew’s in May. Preparation has been underway since that time for his official arrival this week.
