VA COVID-19 Vaccine Program Remains Slow As Shortage Persists
Virginia passed the 1 million COVID-19 vaccine mark over the weekend as the state slowly moves forward in getting its population vaccinated. As of Monday, 1,105,102 vaccine doses had been administered of the 1,580,800 doses distributed to the state, according to the Virginia Health Department.

Phase 2 Of Body Worn Camera Rollout In Fairfax Co. Completed
Last week, the Fairfax County Police Department completed the second phase of the implementation of its Body Worn Camera program. Officers from the Franconia and McLean district stations are now trained in using the cameras, resulting in an additional 218 operators.

Virginia Senate, House Pass Marijuana Legalization Bills
Both chambers of the Virginia General Assembly passed marijuana legalization Friday. While each bill would delay retail sales until 2024, they would legalize simple possession of marijuana in the state as soon as this summer.
"Open Loudoun Schools" Rally Planned For Monday Evening
Parents and community members plan to host an "Open Loudoun Schools" rally outside of the Loudoun County Government Center on Monday evening. The rally intends to pressure the county's school board to reopen schools as they propose their budget to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.
COVID-19 Call Center Expands Capacity In Prince William County
The Prince William County Health District has expanded its COVID-19 Call Center to accommodate increased call volumes. In a press release, the health district also addressed the current vaccination waitlist and frequently asked questions surrounding the vaccination of teachers.
