Teen Dies After Found Unresponsive at School: Police
Girl, 16, was found in school bathroom shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A teenage girl has died after being found unresponsive late Wednesday afternoon at Lake Braddock Secondary School, according to Fairfax County Police.
Officers, along with personnel from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, responded to Lake Braddock Secondary School, 9200 Burke Lake Road, on Wednesday, shortly before 6 p.m. for the report of an unresponsive female found in a bathroom inside the school, according to police.
When officers arrived, Fire and Rescue responders were already on scene performing CPR on the 16-year-old girl, according to police.

The teen was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Brenda Carina Soto of Heritage Square Drive in Burke, according to Fairfax County Police. Next of kin has been notified, police said. Fairfax County Public Schools has made crisis counselors available to students and staff.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division have been investigating this incident, gathering information and are asking the public for any information that may assist them with their investigation. There is no apparent threat to public safety and no overtly suspicious circumstances associated with Brenda's death, police said.
