Traffic Alert: I-95/395 Weekend HOV Lane Closures
High Occupancy Vehicle lanes on I-95/395 will close 11 p.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Saturday for installation of road signs and fiber optics.
The Virginia Department of Transportation is closing High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes on I-395/95 from the Pentagon to the end at Dumfries Road (Route 234) from 11 p.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Saturday. During the closures, contractors will finish work on overhead signs and fiber optics for the 95 express lanes facility.
The lanes will open heading south and close at 2 p.m. for reversal operations before heading north for the remainder of the day. The HOV lanes will close again Saturday night at 11 p.m. through 8 a.m. Sunday morning and reopen to traffic heading in the northbound direction. All closures are weather dependent.
The 95 Express lanes opened Dec. 14 and are operational under standard HOV rules and regulations. Tolling will begin Dec. 29.
