Watch: Burke Kid Gets Call To Be Super Bowl Reporter

The Terra Centre Elementary student was stunned when he got the call he'd be covering the Super Bowl in person.

BURKE, VA—Every few days Corbin Boehm gets to speak on the phone with his dad, an Air Force service member deployed in Afghanistan. But the 12-year-old Burke kid won't be available to talk Monday night. That's because he'll be on national television interviewing Super Bowl LIII players.

Boehm, a sixth grade student at Terra Centre Elementary School, was named the winner of the this year's Panini America Super Bowl Kid Reporter contest. As the winner, Boehm will get to ask players from the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams questions on Opening Night Monday, Jan. 28 alongside former Super Bowl champion Trent Dilfer. He will also get to attend the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 3.

Panini America, the trading card partner of the NFL, holds the Super Bowl Kid Reporter contest annually. This year over 63,000 kids ages 7-13 submitted entries. Ten randomly-selected finalists submitted videos on why they would make the next great kid reporter.

Boehm grew up watching football with his dad as a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. After his big interviews Monday night, they'll certainly have much to discuss on their next call.
