Emaciated Dog's Owner Sought In Centreville: Police

Since a once-emaciated dog has been nursed back to relative health after being found in Centreville, Fairfax County Police seek help.

CENTREVILLE, VA — Now that a once-emaciated dog has been nursed back to relative health after being found a little more than a month ago near 13000 Wakley Court, Fairfax County Animal Protection Police are actively seeking the owner. Toward that end, they're asking for the public's help.

Anyone who recognizes the dog, now named "Max," is urged to call officer Enna Lugo at 571-641-7434 (Enna.Lugo@fairfaxcounty.govor). When the 1-year-old black retriever was found, he was lethargic, unable to stand alone or hold up his head, extremely dehydrated with urine scalding all over his body.

He weighed 23 pounds and was not expected to survive but now weighs more than 45 pounds and is described as a "happy, playful and friendly." Police say he's in medical foster care and not available for adoption.
