Mia Saunders Ballet presents 2018 Season of Giving Special Events

Proceeds from the Nutcracker Theme Events Benefit Centreville High School Drama Scholarships and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

The Mia Saunders School of Ballet will entertain aspiring ballerinas during Thanksgiving weekend at the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party. The Saturday, November 24 event will be held at the Little Rocky Run Recreation Center located at 13900 Stonefield Drive, Clifton from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. The event is appropriate for children ages 3 and up accompanied by an adult and features excerpts from the performance by the cast of this year’s Mia Saunders Ballet The Nutcracker production, light tea party snacks and treats, fun games including a drawing for the Sugar Plum Fairy’s pointe shoes as well as a very special appearance by the Sugar Plum Fairy herself, who will read to the children and pose for photos with each child. All proceeds from the tea party will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in keeping with the Mia Saunders School of Ballet’s tradition of giving to others during the holiday season.

Each holiday season the Mia Saunders School of Ballet proudly continues its twenty-six-year tradition of performing as a gift for others. The students share their talents with the community at the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party and in the student production of the holiday classic, and their parents and friends from the community contribute their time and talents towards the events, making these family and community traditions.

“Each year, I am so proud of my dancers, who are so willing to share their talents with the next generation of ballet dancers.” says Mia Saunders, artistic director and owner of the Mia Saunders School of Ballet, “Seeing my students performing as a gift for the younger dancers is a very rewarding experience.”
