Riptide Meets Little Rocky Run, Hosts Division 3 Relay Carnival
More team records broken, and a fast relay carnival made week five of the summer season a win for all.

The Virginia Run Riptide hosted the Little Rock Run Stingrays for the third ‘A’ meet of the season on Saturday, July 3rd.
The two teams battled hard but Little Rocky Run came out on top with a score of 227 to Virginia Run’s 193. Charis Roundtree broke her own record again this week with a new time of 30.63 in the 11-12 girls 50 meter butterfly.
Riptide swimmers Dara Anyalebechi (8), Tyler Harris (9), Nicholas Harris (11), and Anna Kelliher (12) all took first in freestyle.

First in backstroke were Robert Thompson (8), Sidney Rein (8), Nathan Tonthat (10), Carson Coughlin (12), Davis Collinsworth (14), and Charis Roundtree (12).
Breaststroke first place finishes were turned in by Nathan Tonthat (10), Caitlin Do (10), Kenny Wang (12), Anna Kelliher (12), Davis Collinsworth (14), and Michael Hart (17).

And in the Butterfly round first place finishes went to Dara Anyalebechi (8), Caitlin Do (10), Carson Coughlin (10), and Charis Roundtree (12).
The 8 and Under girls won their medley relay with the team of Dela Snitselaar, Emma Wall, Sidney Rein, and Dara Anyalebechi with a time of 1:35.08.
Medley relay wins were also brought home by the 9-10 boys team of Nathan Tonthat, Tyler Harris, Declan McCrea, and Matthew Kelliher with a time of 1:19.90; and the 11-12 boys team of Nicholas Harris, Kenny Wang, Christopher Thompson, and Desmond McDonough with a time of 1:12.57.
The 11-12 girls medley relay team of Carson Coughlin, Anna Kelliher, Charis Roundtree, and Caroline Freiss won with a time of 1:04.03, and the 15-18 boys team of Sam Roundtree, Griffin Osterhout, Michael Hart, and William Whitton won with a time of 1:57.75.
The Riptide also hosted the Division Three Relay Carnival on Wednesday night with the Riptide setting two new pool records: Carson Coughlin, Caroline Friess, Anna Kelliher and Charis Roundtree broke both of the girls 11-12 relay records - 100 medley relay with a 1:02.00 (lowering their own record by 1.84 seconds) and 100 free relay with a 57.43 (lowering a record which has stood since 1994 by 1.25 seconds).
Tomorrow, the Riptide heads to Vienna Woods for another exciting meet.
