4 Students Attend Prime Minister of India's Address to the U.S. Congress

Fairfax County, VA - Four high school students from Fairfax County had the opportunity to watch Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India's historic address to a joint meeting of the U.S. Congress on Wednesday, June 8.

Congresswoman Barbara Comstock obtained a number of tickets for constituents in the 10th Congressional District, including the four students, to attend the address. Dhruv Gupta, Rashel Bajaj, Anisha Bhatia, and Kubair Chuchra were the four honored student guests.

The four outstanding students are pictured with Congresswoman Comstock during a tour of the Capitol she gave them before attending Prime Minister Modi’s address to Congress.

Dhruv Gupta lives in Herndon and goes to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria. He is passionate about film-making and computer science.

Anisha Bhatia is a rising sophomore at Oakton High School and is a straight A student who speaks three languages. She is dedicated to pursuing the arts through STEM education and is involved in various service-related extracurricular activities at school.

Rashel Bajaj is a dedicated student from Chantilly. She attends Chantilly High School and outside of her school activities she serves on the Executive Board of Growth and Inspiration through Volunteering and Education (GIVE).

Kubair Chuchra lives in McLean and is a student athlete who actively participates in his school’s Thespian Society and choral and jazz bands. Kubair is also a varsity letterman in rowing and was the captain of his Junior Varsity football team this fall. He goes to St. Albans School in Washington, D.C.
