Key to Awesomeness: Deneen said that the key to Chris's awesomeness is positive attitude and his ability to balance and prioritize between social time and school.
"Even before entering college, Chris’s attitude and outlook on life has always been one of ‘Whatever It Takes’ and ‘No Big Deal’" said Deneen. "While at Chantilly High, he faced a few minor adverse situations; however, there was absolutely nothing that threw him off his game. He was amazingly able to balance his very active social life, basketball, football, student leadership commitments, family time and his academics."

"In his second year as an East Carolina Pirate, he has continued to grow and flourish," said Deneen. "He actively participates in intramural basketball, volunteers for various campus fund-raising activities and events, in addition to the local campus radio station WZMB."
"He often inspires me and makes me proud. Our family has always been able to count on Chris to get the job done (whatever ‘the job’ might be), to show grace under pressure and to be victorious in the most challenging situations," added Deneen. "We applaud his efforts and challenge him to continue excel."
