Dulles International Runways Reopen Mid-Morning After Icy Conditions

DULLES, VA — Runways at Dulles International Airport reopened Saturday morning after closing for hours due to icy conditions at the airport:

Two runways are open for flights, with temperatures increasing. Residual airline delays/cancellations are possible.

Two runways are open for flights at Dulles International Airport.

• Runway 1C/19C opened at about 9:35 a.m.
• Runway 12/30 opened at about 10 a.m.
• Dulles has plenty of available runway capacity to handle today's remaining flights.

Several flights were canceled Saturday morning while runways were closed due to icy weather conditions. Residual delays and cancellations are expected while airlines gradually resume a normal schedule.

Reagan National Airport remained open through the morning, but officials warned that "many roadways around the region are treacherous due to ice. Use caution."
