Election 2015: Precinct Changes

Loudoun County election officials have notified voters of several precinct changes in advance of the November general election.

Precincts were split to reduce the number of voters in each precinct in preparation for the 2016 presidential elections, said Judy Brown, General Registrar in a news release.

“Our goal was to create precincts that are more manageable and can be run more efficiently when higher turnout is expected. Typically we avoid making precinct changes in presidential election years to avoid voter confusion,” she added.

The precincts affected are:

• 107 Little River (Little River Elementary School) has been split, creating a new precinct - 123 Cardinal Ridge (Cardinal Ridge Elementary School)

• 112 Freedom (Freedom High School) has been split creating a new precinct - 124 Liberty (Liberty Elementary School)

• 117 Carter (Rosa Lee Carter Elementary School) has been split creating a new precinct - 125 Rock Ridge (Rock Ridge High School)

• 312 Briar Woods (Briar Woods High School) has been split creating a new precinct - 317 Old Arcola VFD (Old Arcola Fire House)

• 616 Eagle Ridge (Eagle Ridge Middle School) has been split creating a new precinct - 625 Mill Run (Mill Run Elementary School)

• 622 Farmwell Station (Farmwell Station Middle School) has been split creating a new precinct-626 Ashby Ponds (Great Oak Clubhouse)

• 623 Weller (Steuart W. Weller Elementary School) has been split creating a new precinct - 627 Ashbrook (Parks, Recreation & Community Services administration building) and some voters moved to precinct 620 Russell Branch (Ashburn Elementary School)

• 620 Russell Branch (Ashburn Elementary School) - Some voters have been moved to a new precinct - 627 – Ashbrook (Parks, Recreation & Community Services administration building)

• 407 Harper Park (Harper Park Middle School) has been split creating a new precinct - 420 River Creek (still voting at Harper Park Middle School)

• 821 Lansdowne - Voters have been moved to Precinct 822 Riverside, now voting at Riverside High School

• 417 Between the Hills changed to 421 Between the Hills voting at the Between the Hills Community Center. (The facility’s name changed, the location is the same.)

• Voters previously voting at Mill Run Elementary School have been moved to the Moorefield Station Elementary and are now in the 628 Moorefield Station precinct.

• Voters previously voting at Moorefield Station Elementary have been moved to the Discovery Elementary School and are now in the 629 Discovery precinct.
