New Upscale-Casual Restaurant Hiring 200 For Chantilly Location

CHANTILLY, VA — Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is preparing to open a new restaurant in Chantilly in February and wants to hire about 200 people for the new location. The California-based restaurant chain is accepting applications for servers, cooks, bartenders, bussers, hosts and hostesses for the Chantilly location and is conducting in-person interviews at the new site.

Inspired by life in the Rocky Mountains, where its founder and CEO Chris Simms spent time growing up, Lazy Dog describes itself as offering "small-town hospitality" and a "vibrant menu that highlights seasonal ingredients sourced with care, and a warm, inviting ambiance that celebrates the majestic scenery and artisan authenticity of Jackson Hole, Wyoming."

The restaurant will be located at the Field at Commonwealth, a 167,000 square-foot retail development off Westfields Boulevard in Chantilly. A Wegmans opened there in 2018.

"We are thrilled to soon be serving more guests throughout western Fairfax County with this location in Chantilly," Simms said Monday in a statement. "With 200 new positions available, we are looking forward to building a team of exceptionally friendly and talented people that will expand our Lazy Dog family."

The restaurant offers traditional fare such as burgers and sandwiches, along with options such as "Goat Cheese + Pepper Jelly, entrees such as Pork Belly + Beans, Green Goddess Salad, BBQ Bison Meatloaf and desserts including a Peach-Huckleberry Open Face Pie, all made in house from scratch."

Bar offerings at Lazy Dog include a wide selection of local craft beers and handcrafted cocktails. The interior resembles something of a ski lodge, with fireplaces and the like.

After opening the first restaurant in the Huntington Beach area of California in 2003, Lazy Dog now has almost 40 locations across the country. Lazy Dog also plans to open a restaurant at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax in April and will begin hiring for that location in February.
