Northern Virginia Weather: How High Will it Go?

STERLING, VA — Some like it hot. For those folks, there's good news for Tuesday, according to the area outpost of the National Weather Service.

We're talking highs in the low 80s and yet another sun-splashed afternoon.

Watch out for a 30 percent chance of rain Wednesday. Even so, relatively warm weather looks like it may be here to stay, for the most part.

Here's the latest NWS forecast:

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 58. South wind 7 to 13 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: A chance of showers, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 75. West wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. North wind 5 to 9 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.

Saturday: A chance of showers after 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
