Arlington Public Schools Welcomes Students for 2014-2015 School Year

Tuesday, Sept. 2 is the start of the 2014-2015 school year for students who attend Arlington Public Schools in Arlington County. The Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) program and PreK special education classes begin Wed, Sept. 3.

Here’s information from Arlington Public Schools for students and their families to make for an easy transition:

First Day Packets
A small number of families may not receive a First Day Packet on Sept. 2. We are working with the printer to ensure that packets are delivered to school for those families during the first week.

School times are as follows:

• Elementary School
  • 8 a.m. – 2:41 p.m.: Abingdon, Campbell, Carlin Springs and Claremont
  • 8:25 a.m. – 3:06 p.m.: Arlington Traditional, Barrett, Long Branch and Randolph
  • 9:00 a.m. – 3:41 p.m.: Arlington Science Focus, Ashlawn, Barcroft, Drew, Glebe, Henry, Hoffman-Boston, Jamestown, Key, McKinley, Nottingham, Oakridge, Taylor and Tuckahoe
    

Note: There is no early release on Wednesday, Sept. 3 for Arlington Science Focus School, Arlington Traditional School, Long Branch, and Taylor elementary schools.

• Middle School: 7:50 a.m. – 2:24 p.m.
• High School: 8:19 a.m. – 3:01 p.m.
• H-B Woodlawn Secondary: 9:24 a.m. – 4:06 p.m.
• Stratford Program: 9:15 a.m. – 4 p.m.
