The Average Face of Santa Claus

We all know what Santa Claus looks like, but do the actors who play him in films resemble each other? Here's the average face of Santa!

We all know Santa Claus as the merry character who slides down millions of sooty chimneys to bring us presents on December 24th. Despite his stature, he easily enters homes across the world, wolfs down cookies and milk, and spreads holiday cheer far and wide.

While most children happily believe that Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves live happily on the North Pole for most of the year, for most adults, the best way to get in the holiday spirit is to watch holiday movies throughout December. There are traditional tales like Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life that families treasure, and then there are more modern films like Elf and Bad Santa that diverge from the typical Christmas story line.

No matter your preference, there are numerous Christmas movie options for movie buffs.

With so many holiday films, it's interesting to think about which actors play the central Santa character. Actors like Tim Allen and Billy Bob Thorton certainly don't resemble each other in any obvious way, but they both played St. Nick in popular holiday films.

Christmas tree retailer Treetopia looked at ten famous actors who played Santa and put together a compilation of their faces to create The Average Face of Santa. With just a bushy white beard, simple frameless glasses, and a cheery red hat, it appears anyone can be transformed into the legendary Santa Claus.
