ROSSLYN, VA — Arlington Fire and EMS extinguished an HVAC fire on the roof of a Rosslyn high-rise on Tuesday afternoon, according to a post on the department's official Twitter account.

Fire units were dispatched around 3:05 p.m. for the report of a fire on the roof of a building in the 1800 block of N. Nash Street.

"Crews worked their way to the roof to find HVAC equipment that was smoking," said Taylor Blunt, ACFD public information officer. "Within minutes firefighters isolated power to the air handler and prevented any further spread into the building."

No injuries were reported to firefighters or civilians and there was no impact to residents of the building, according to Blunt. In total, five engines, two ladder trucks, one heavy rescue and several command vehicles responded to incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
