New Year's Eve Weather in Virginia: Hour-by-Hour Until the Ball Drops

STERLING, VA — The temperature will reach the mid-40s on Saturday, but winds will make it feel much cooler right through midnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds will gust as high as 24 mph by mid-afternoon Saturday. Otherwise winds will be up to 15 mph under increasing clouds.

After dark, we'll reach a low of 35 degrees, but the temperature will feel like 33 degrees at midnight.

New Year's day is forecasted to be mostly sunny, with a high near 50 degrees and winds becoming calm.

Here's the hour-by-hour "feels like" forecast until the ball drops Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service:

10 a.m.: 30 degrees

11 a.m.: 33 degrees

Noon: 35 degrees

1 p.m.: 36 degrees

2 p.m.: 37 degrees

5 p.m.: 35 degrees

7 p.m.: 34 degrees

Midnight: 33 degrees
