REPORTS
ROBBERY, 2020-09050122, 2300 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 1:03 p.m. on September 5, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that three male suspects entered a business and attempted to smash a glass display counter with rocks they had concealed in their clothing. When that was unsuccessful, the suspects allegedly reached over the counter and stole merchandise. The suspects then threw merchandise at store employees and attempted to strike one employee before fleeing the scene on foot. A lookout for the suspects was broadcast to responding officers. Units canvassed the area and located two of the suspects in the 2700 block of Columbia Pike. One suspect fled on foot from officers and, following a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into police custody. Delonte Roach, 18, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Felony and Eluding Police. Raymontae Ford, 19, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Felony and Obstruction of Justice. Both suspects were held without bond. Suspect Three remains outstanding and is described as a young Black male, medium height with a skinny build.
RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE, 2020-09060032, Columbia Pike at S. Highland Street. At approximately 2:15 a.m. on September 6, an officer on patrol determined the tags on a vehicle did not match the registered make and model. The officer initiated a traffic stop, and, during the course of the investigation, the vehicle was confirmed to have been previously reported stolen out of Washington, D.C. William Cunningham, 27, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Felon in Possession of Ammunition and No Operators License.
MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING, 2020-09050074, 900 block of S. Buchanan Street. At approximately 6:29 a.m. on September 5, police were dispatched to the report of destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 5:21 a.m., a known suspect allegedly threw a cinderblock at the victim’s window, causing it to shatter. A warrant for Discharging a Firearm or Missile in/at an Occupied Building was obtained for the suspect.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2020-09060096, 3200 block of 10th Street N. At approximately 12:28 a.m. on September 6, police were dispatched to Virginia Hospital Center for the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect pushed the victim unprovoked, then grabbed his neck and pushed him to the ground. As the victim attempted to stand up, the suspect struck him with a closed fist, causing him to lose consciousness. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’10”-6’0”, wearing all black. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2020-09050009, 500 block of N. Thomas Street. At approximately 12:37 a.m. on September 5, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was walking in the area with a friend when the suspects walked past them. They stopped walking briefly, at which time, Suspect One approached her from behind and began pulling on her purse. The victim resisted and attempted to hold onto it, however the strap broke. The suspects stole her purse and fled on foot prior to police arrival. Suspect One is described as a male, approximately 6’0” and 180 lbs., wearing a white sweatshirt, black pants, black tennis shoes and a blue surgical mask. Suspect Two is described as a male, approximately 6’0” and 180 lbs., wearing a blue surgical mask. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2020-09060194, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 11:28 p.m. on September 6, police were dispatched to the late report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was working as a rideshare driver when the suspect requested to change their destination and requested to pay with cash instead of via the ridesharing application. The suspect then began acting aggressively and hit the seat of the car multiple times. The victim exited the vehicle to call 911, at which point the suspect followed, demanded his money back and attempted to reach inside of the car. The victim attempted to stop the suspect, but was pushed, causing him to fall to the ground and drop his phone. The suspect then stole the victim’s phone and fled prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a Black male, 30-40 years old, 5’10”-6’0”, and 180-200 lbs. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2020-09070033, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 3:08 a.m. on September 7, police were dispatched to the report of an alarm. Upon arrival, it was determined that four suspects forced entry to a business, causing damage, and stole numerous items of value. Suspect One is described as a Black male, 20-30 years old, 190-210 lbs., wearing a white hoodie, dark pants, dark shoes and a black face mask. Suspect Two is described as a Black male, 20-30 years old, 190-210 lbs., wearing a blue hoodie, beige pants, red shoes, a white facemask and carrying a gray backpack. Suspect Three is described as a Black male, 20-30 years old, 160-180 lbs., wearing a black shirt, black pants, black sneakers and a white t-shirt wrapped around his head. Suspect Four is described as a Black male, 20-30 years old, 160-180 lbs., wearing a black t-shirt with a hood and white long sleeve shirt underneath, black pants, dark shoes and a black balaclava. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2020-09050220, 4600 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 11:32 p.m. on September 5, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., the unknown suspect gained entry to a residence, tampered with items and stole items of value. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2020-09070084, 800 block of S. Quincy Street. At approximately 12:06 p.m. on September 7, police were dispatched to the late report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 11:00 a.m., an unknown suspect attempted to gain entry to a residence unsuccessfully. The suspect left on foot prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a White male, 5’8”-6’0”, in his late 20’s or early 30’s, average weight, with long blonde hair to his shoulders, wearing a green shirt and khaki shorts. The investigation is ongoing.
