CLARENDON, VA — Two local men were charged with assaulting a police officer Saturday night in the Clarendon area, according to a police report.

Arlington County Police officers working the nightlife detail were dispatched around 11:35 p.m., to the 2800 block of Wilson Boulevard for the report of a dispute. They found two groups involved in an active verbal dispute. At first, the officers were able two separate the two groups. But, after a person from one of the groups approached the other group, the dispute resumed. As the officers tried to separate the groups again, police say two men became aggressive toward the officers, pushing and then assaulting them.

ACPD arrested Joshua Meyers, 23, and Myles Goggins, 23, both of Arlington, and charged them with assault and battery on police officer and being drunk in public.
