Police: Robber Held Box Cutter to Woman's Throat

Victim was walking near her home Monday evening, according to Arlington police.

A woman had a box cutter held to her throat when she was walking near her home in the Ballston-Virginia Square area this week, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

The woman reportedly was approached by an unknown man at about 8 p.m. Monday in the 3800 block of North Ninth Street. The man grabbed her, held a box cutter to her throat, and demanded she give him money and a cell phone, according to police.

When the woman told the robber she did not have any money, he led her half a block away where another man was standing. The two men took the victim’s iPhone and ran away, according to police.

The robber who initially approached the victim was described as about 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, and wearing a ski mask, grey winter jacket and light jeans.

The second man was about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 200 pounds, and had a beard. He wore a white hat and a royal blue jacket with an orange bottom, dark jeans and white shoes, according to police.
