Woman Choked In Colonial Village Attack: Police Report

ARLINGTON, VA — Detectives from the Homicide/Robbery Unit of the Arlington County Police are investigating a Tuesday night incident in which a woman was attacked and choked by a man in the Colonial Village neighborhood, according to a police release.

Officers responded around 7:08 p.m., for the report of an assault underway in the 1800 block of N. Uhle Street. Police learned that an unknown man had come up behind the female victim as she was walking in the area and then put a rope or cord tightly around her neck.

As the woman tried to free herself, she fell to the ground with the man above her. He then began choking her with his hands, but stopped when two witnesses approached. He then ran away. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the man.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police described the suspect as a light-skinned Black man in his late teens to early 20s. He stood 5-foot-6 and had a thin build. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black baseball cap, frayed blue jeans, and a black zip-up jacket with red accents on the sleeves. Underneath, he wore a tan or beige shirt.
