Getting ready to use your Cuisinart over the holidays ? Not so fast. Some 8 million Cuisinart food processors are being recalled due to a laceration hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Tuesday morning.

Conair, the company that distributes and owns the Cuisinart brand, has received 69 reports of consumers finding broken pieces of the blade in processed food, including 30 reports of mouth lacerations or tooth injuries, according to the CPSC.

The food processor’s riveted blade can crack over time, and small, metal pieces of the blade can break off into the processed food, posing a laceration hazard to consumers, the CPSC warned.

The recalled Cuisinarts, 22 models in all, were sold at department, gourmet and specialty stores nationwide and on various websites from July 1996 through December 2015 for between $100 and $350. The machines were manufactured in China, according to the CPSC.
