Adoptable Alexandria Pet: Mickey Is Energetic For An Older Dog

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Adoption fees are being waived this weekend for senior pets at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

Families looking to give a home to a lovable older pet can skip the appointment line and pay no adoption fees on pets 8 years or older from May 29 to 31. For more information, visit AlexandriaAnimals.org/SuperSeniors.

One of the available senior pets is Mickey, an 11-year-old pit bull terrier who's more energetic than his age would suggest. He would do well in a home without other dogs but loves being around people and kids.

Hi there! My name is Mickey and I am a handsome 11 year old pit bull terrier who is suddenly searching for a new best friend after living with the same family since I was a puppy. The folks here at the shelter have been great, but I am so ready to be in a home of my own again. I love people but am very selective about my four-legged friends. For that reason, I would do best being the only dog in a home. Even though I am a little older I still have a lot of energy and love going on walks. I love being around people and have lived with kids in my previous home. So if you think we could be a match, make an appointment to come see me. I can't wait to meet you!
