ALEXANDRIA, VA — Over the course of the pandemic, pets have provided friendship and fun to plenty of new pet owners. The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria has seen plenty of interest from adopters, and new adoptable pets become available on a regular basis.

Bolo, 11 Year Old, Male, Black and White Pit Bull

Hi there! My name is Bolo and I am a handsome 11 year old pit bull terrier who is suddenly searching for a new best friend after living with the same family since I was a puppy. The folks here at the AWLA have been great, but I am so ready to be in a home of my own again. My friends are so great, that someone even paid for my adoption fee already! Isn't that nice?

I am a big guy with an even bigger heart. I love everyone I meet, but am very selective about my four-legged friends. For that reason, I would do best being the only dog in a home. Even though I am a little older I still have a lot of energy and love going on walks. I love being around people and have lived with kids.
