This June 3-5 the Library is partnering with LGBTQ Task Force to provide programming celebrating PRIDE month here in Alexandria. Three days of programming are available virtually to educate, celebrate and connect those who wish to celebrate PRIDE. There will be a workshops and speakers addressing privilege in the LGBTQ communities, the changing legal landscape as well as a dance party and a drag queen story hour.

If you aren’t able to join us the first weekend in June you can still celebrate PRIDE with the library. Come make a wrapped rainbow keychain via Barrett and Beatley’s Take and Make program running from June 1-9th. Make one for yourself and a second one to bring back to the library to contribute to a community Yarn Storm art project at Beatley and Barrett.
There are also LGBTQ resources that you can access anytime that have been compiled by the library (link: https://alexlibraryva.org/lgbtq).

Please join us at some, or all, or these events to celebrate! Hope everyone has a fun and safe PRIDE!
