Alexandria Public Schools Make Jan. 8 Weather Decision After Snow

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria City Public Schools and offices will open on a two-hour delay Wednesday, Jan. 8. The National Weather Service says untreated surfaces may become icy overnight.

Kindergarten through grade 12 and Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) students report two hours later than regular opening time. Morning pre-K programs (Early Childhood Special Education and Preschoolers Learning Together) report two hours later than regular opening time and dismiss one hour later than usual. Afternoon pre-K programs report one hour later than regular opening time and are dismissed on a normal schedule.

All non-essential personnel should report two hours later than their regular time. Essential personnel report on a normal schedule.
