Alexandria Sheriff's Deputy Fatally Shoots Burglar at Fort Washington Home
A deputy sheriff was confronted by a burglary suspect when he arrived at his Maryland, according to Prince George's County police.

Authorities say an Alexandria sheriff's deputy who lives in Fort Washington, Md., fatally shot a burglary suspect Tuesday night inside his home.
The deceased suspect is identified as 20-year-old Jon Adgrain Pocknett of the 4000 block of Doncaster Drive in Indian Head.
According to Prince George's County police, the deputy noticed his front door was damaged around 10:50 p.m. when he returned to his residence in 8400 block of Rose Marie Drive.

When he went inside, he was reportedly confronted by the suspect.
The homeowner shot the apparent burglar, who collapsed outside the residence, according to police. Investigators believe one or more additional suspects were also on the scene.

Officers quickly responded to the scene, where the suspect was pronounced dead, police said.
The deputy has been placed on administrative leave pending completion of the investigations by Prince George’s County and Alexandria Sheriff’s Office.
