Alexandria Woman Scores $1M From Fredericksburg Lottery Ticket

ALEXANDRIA, VA — An Alexandria women is a million-dollar lottery winner after claiming one of the prizes in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle.

Clarice Chandler told lottery officials "it was just by chance" she bought a ticket at Royal Farms at 5301 Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg.

She claimed her prize three months later, becoming one of four $1 million winners in the New Year’s Day drawing. The other winning tickets were bought in Farmville, Portsmouth and Woodbridge.

Six additional tickets won $100,000 each in Danville, Gloucester, North Chesterfield, Poquoson, Smithfield and Virginia Beach. Another 500 tickets each won $500.
